In Celebration of

Joao Luis Rego Vital

August 21, 1938 -  November 14, 2018

Peacefully after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 in Mississauga. He will be tremendously missed by his wife of 56 years Leonilde. Loving father to his only son Rodolfo (Odette). Cherished grandfather to Meaghan, Kayla and Robert. Great grandfather to Bennjamin. Survived by his brother Antonio (Maria de Carmen). Predeceased by his parents and 5 brothers and sisters. Joao first arrived in Canada in 1962 from his birth place, Sao Miguel, Azores. Along with his wife they built a home for themselves and their son. He had a passion for soccer, following the Sporting Club of Portugal, and his love of painting, from which he made it a career. The family would appreciate flowers or donations to a charity of your choice.

Dear Cousin Leonilde, Rudolfo, Odette, all cousins, family, and friends,

Our condolences to all.

Primo Joao was a role model, always with a happy spirit, loving words and his jokes was a delight - we couldn't stop laughing! He loved Portuguese cuisine so much, Prima Leonilde had expertise on this and prepared with so much love. This lovely couple enjoyed sharing their home and their superb foods and deserts. We all have so many fond memories of great times spent together as a family. Thank you for always being in our life!
May God help you Prima Leonilde, Rudolfo, Odette and all of us to find strength on His memory and legacy. May the lovely grandchildren find the same comfort as well.

Love and hugs,
Helena & Frank Ganhadeiro
