Vinko (Vince) Bujas

April 10, 1937 -  January 26, 2019

Surrounded by his family's love, Vinko passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at St. Joseph's Health Centre in Toronto, at the age of 81.

Beloved husband of Jasna for 48 years. Devoted father of Kristina (Michael) and Miranda. Adored Dida to grandsons Justin, Alex, Chase and Zack. Predeceased by father Milan at a very young age and then later by his mother Marica and brother Dane.

Born April 10, 1937, in Sibenik, Croatia, Vinko always worked hard and dreamed big. He left his humble home in the Dolac neighbourhood to spend his early working years in Zagreb and Vienna before embarking on the bigger dream of moving to Canada in 1970 with his beautiful wife Jasna. He encouraged his daughters to be studious, career-oriented, family-focused and very proud of their Croatian heritage.

After retiring from a 28-year tenure at Atomic Energy of Canada, he joyfully focused on being a loving grandfather to his four grandsons. A gentle giant whose friendly nature, inquisitiveness and charm made him memorable to many.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Kristina, we are so sorry to hear of the death of your father. Such a gentleman and always saw him with a smile on his face. We enjoyed the conversations we had when we had the opportunity to meet. Please accept our apologies that we are unable to attend the service, but I hope that you will find some comfort in remembering happy times with your dad.. May he Rest In Peace and eternal light shine upon him.
