In Celebration of

Vincent Foran

March 28, 1933 -  May 16, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Vincent Foran, who passed away peacefully in Trillium Hospital on May 16, 2022. Pre-deceased by his parents, sister Elizabeth and brothers Michael and John.

Mourned and sadly missed by his wife Mary (nee Grogan), daughter Maureen and son-in-law Ian, son Michael and daughter-in-law Tasha, son Terence and daughter-in-law Andrea, daughter Anne Marie and son-in-law Des. “Poppa” was loved by grandchildren, Rachel, Shannon, Patricia, Maya, Cassidy, Kieran, Brayden and Dylan along with the extended Foran & Grogan families and friends.

Vincent was born in Glascloune, Doonbeg Co Clare, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1964. After marrying Mary, the family moved to Etobicoke where they enjoyed a wonderful life together for 56 years. Vincent never forgot his Irish roots. He was a proud member of the Toronto Clare Association, an avid GAA fan and supported many Irish dances and plays throughout the years. His volunteer work in the Irish community included fundraising, building stages for Irish dance competitions and floats for St. Patrick’s Day parades.

Vincent had a sharp mind for mathematics, a passion for gardening and loved a hot cup of tea. He was also a proud Canadian and enjoyed many happy summer vacations on Georgian Bay. Vincent always watched his beloved Leafs, through good times and bad, and became a huge supporter of the Blue Jays and Raptors. He worked for Molson for more than 25 years and received awards for dedicated service and safety. He will be fondly remembered for enjoying a hearty laugh, a good joke, big smiles and a twinkle in his eye.

Visitation will take place at Turner and Porter York Chapel at 2357 Bloor Street W. (Windemere Ave. and Bloor St.) from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, May 20. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 21 at 9:30 a.m., Nativity of Our Lord Church, 480 Rathburn Road followed by an interment at Assumption Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Vincent’s name to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Nativity of Our Lord parish.
