It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved wife, mother, sister and abuela on Friday November 5, 2021 at the age of 82. She passed away at home surrounded by her spouse Francisco (Frank) of 54yrs, daughters Cindy and Carol. She is now reunited with her parents Carmen Amelia Manzano (neé Duenas) and Nestor Vicente Manzano. Predeceased by older brother Fausto Duenas and survived by siblings Lucia and Salomon Manzano. Victoria was the beloved and devoted loving mother of Cindy and Carol (Mark). Devoted abuela of Sophia, Matthew and Anthony.

Victoria was born in Quito, Ecuador third of five siblings. From an early age she was smart, kind, full of life and fiercely independent. She loved education and despite being born in a time where most women did not pursue academic endeavors, she defied all odds. She attended the prestigious private all girls school Colego La Providencia and high school Gran Colombia. Upon graduation, she had every intention of attending post secondary but despite having the academic acumen required, finances and gender prevented that dream.
Despite one door closing, she always had the strength of character to move forward and persevere. She continued to face life's challenges head on and this led her to various career adventures including insurance agent, private tutor, retail, secretary and finally office administrator.

In 1970 her biggest life challenge took place when she immigrated to Toronto, Canada as a newlywed. Arriving at Pearson International Airport in January in a very fashionable mini-skirt suit, 3" heels and full glam to see snow for the first time. Like in all things she did, she quickly adapted to her new country and enrolled in George Brown College to improve her English and began acclimating herself to her new life. For the next 51 years, Victoria's incredible strength of character and conviction guided her as a supportive spouse, devoted mother, great friend and co-worker. She devoted her life to her family where she always put her children, spouse and grandchildren ahead of herself. She was most happy when her family was together. Despite her poor health, she never let it stop her, she pushed forward and would always say "my ‘computer’ works perfectly". To the very end, she was always perfectly herself.
While she leaves a tremendous void in our family, her life example of strength of character inspires us always and lives on in her children and grandchildren. Victoria never forgot children in need and throughout her life always gave back to marginalized children.
