Unexpectedly, at the age of 65 on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at Toronto Western hospital. Beloved wife of 49 years to her husband Ivan. Much loved mother of Stanko (Klaudija), Ivana (Anđelko) and Marija (Adam). Cherished and adored Baka of Danijel, Filip, Katarina, Valentina, Anthony, Tomislav and Luka.

She also leaves behind her beloved mother, Kata, two brothers Vlado (Božica) and Marijan, sister-in-law Ana, along with their children.

Vera arrived to Canada in 1974 at the very young age of 16. She did not know the language and was here with just her husband Ivan. Together they worked hard at various factories and established their family roots in Toronto & Mississauga. She was always willing to lend a hand in the Croatian community whether it was cooking, cleaning or baking her famous “kolače”. When she became a Baka, she was always willing to help care for her grandchildren on a daily basis. Her life was for her family, community and faith. Our hearts are broken that we had to say goodbye but we find peace knowing she is now in heaven with her father Antun, in-laws Stanko and Manda, and her beloved sister-in law Ružica.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel Chapel”, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Highway 10, N. of Q.E.W.), on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 5-9 pm. A Prayer Service will be at 8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Church, 7 Croatia St, Toronto, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10 am.

Interment Assumption Cemetery.
