Vasco passed away peacefully on May 17, 2021, Born in Sao Miguel, Azores in his 86th year after his long and courageous battle with Lymphoma, bladder Cancer and Heart disease.

He has now joined his beloved wife Maria Emilia who passed in 2007. He leaves behind their three children Octavio (Heather), Vasco (Sheri), Isilda (Terry) and his cherished grandchildren Michael, Shawn, Nicole, Justin, Carly and Matthew. He will be missed by his brothers Manuel (Gilda), Antonio (Maria), brother in law Floriano (Odilia) and his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He lived a rich and colourful life through his performances in Cantigas do Desifio, his incredible talent and gift took him all over the world entertaining Portuguese communities in Brazil, Bermuda, California, Massachusetts and many others. His loss in the Portuguese community will be deeply felt and he will always be remembered for his incredible Poetic skills, sense of humour and respect for his fellow singers. To his singing family and friends we thank you for continuing to acknowledge his dedication to his talent and skill by honouring him over the years. Our family is truly grateful.

You have left us now sweet father but know that we walk in your footsteps and are forever guided by the path you have paved, your light, your wisdom, your courage, your love has always and will always show us the way to be better and to do better.

Good night sweet father, good night.
