In Celebration of

Anton Fred Ostrowercha

May 5, 1934 -  April 13, 2021

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Tony (Anton, “GooGoo”) Ostrowercha, 86, who died Tuesday, April 13th, 2021, at home.

Born May 5th, 1934, in Swan Plain, Saskatchewan. Predeceased by his spouse of 54 years Iris Mary Ostrowercha (nee Maloney), and his big toe. He is survived by two daughters Kelly Longo (nee) Ostrowercha and Lisa Ostrowercha (Rob) and his three grandchildren, Stacey Ostrowercha, Tyler Longo and Jay Longo. As well, one grand dog Chloe.

From a large family of 8 siblings, he has left behind his brothers Peter (Sylvia) and Bill (Vickie, deceased), sister Mary (Ted, deceased), and several nieces and nephews. He loved his weekly call with his sister Mary, playing jokes on Pete and was proud to tell everyone his brother Bill was 92, healthy with the same birthday as his granddaughter Stacey.

Predeceased by his parents Stella & Metro (Pete), brothers John (Jeannette) and Mike (Mary) and sisters Betty (John) and Adeline (Jerry).

Tony could always be found tinkering around in the garage. He could find a way to fix anything, no matter how much time it took. Forever the epitome of a "hard worker", he would spend his spare time helping family and friends with their projects and renos. He dedicated his whole life to his family. He would have done anything for Iris, his two daughters and grandchildren, who he taught wisdom, importance of hard work and love toward others.

Retired from Ford Motor Company for many years, he truly lived out his retirement with so much happiness and memories we will cherish forever. Tony will be remembered through several generations, as a loving parent, grandparent and friend to so many. At his home, he created endless memories hosting parties for friends in the backyard pool. He loved sports, good laughs and silly jokes, (that sometimes didn’t make sense to anyone but him). He appreciated the time spent with anyone who would visit. Loving life and creating smiles, he always made sure to be on his best behaviour for the nurses, even when he was not feeling well.

The family would like to thank Dr. R. Wanono, Mississauga Lung Heath Centre for her special care. His nurses, who he cherished more as friends, Barb, Maria, Vesna and Mark King from Spectrum, for always trying to coordinate help for him.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the funeral service/cremation has been held with immediate family.
