In Celebration of

The Rev. Canon William E.G. Kibblewhite

December 14, 1942 -  March 19, 2024

Bill died unexpectedly on March 19, 2024 while on vacation with his wife Linda in the Dominican Republic, at the age of 81. He was the loving husband of Linda (née Parfitt), proud father of Susan Crossett (Doug Gore) and Dr. Sarah Kibblewhite (Graeme Hamilton), adoring “Pop” of Ethan, Sadie, William, and Andrew, brother of Donald Kibblewhite (Susan, and Erin, Nelson, and Wyatt, and Taylor and Craig), brother-in-law of Marlene and Allan MacLuckie (Gregory, Patty, Isabelle and Charlotte, and Christopher). Bill was the son of the late Bill Kibblewhite (The Rev W.E.) and Geraldine Blair.

Canon Bill, as he was affectionately known, served as a parish priest for 49 years in the Diocese of Toronto, as Assistant Curate at St. Michael and All Angels Church, Toronto, and as Incumbent of the parishes of Coldwater-Medonte, Holy Trinity, Ajax, St. Matthew’s Islington, and the Church of St. Andrew, Scarborough. Throughout his ministry Bill was involved in diocesan committee work and in retirement served for three years as an Associate Priest and then for ten years as an Honorary Assistant at St. Peter’s, Erindale. Prior to starting his ministry at St. Peter’s, Bill served briefly as an Interim Priest-in-Charge of Holy Spirit, North Dixie, now Holy Spirit of Peace. For much of his ministry Bill was well-known for his mentorship of fellow clergy, especially those entering Holy Orders as Assistant Curates.

Bill was a keen athlete and enjoyed spending time with family at Kuling cottage in Milford Bay, Muskoka. He was a fourth generation Anglican priest. His family history was one of service to the church, athletic achievement, and handling personal tragedy with faith and courage.

In memory of Bill, gifts to St. Peter’s Church, the Diocesan FaithWorks Appeal, the Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund, or Wycliffe College would be appreciated.

A livestream link will be made available prior to the service.

My condolences to the entire family during this very challenging time. I did not know Bill, but know that Sarah is a very special friend and person. It speaks volumes about the kind of man her father was, I have no doubt. I hope you find comfort in his memory.
