Tess Reszetnik

June 14, 1937 -  December 23, 2022

Tess died peacefully at Dorothy Ley Hospice on Friday December 23, 2022 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of Martin of 53 years, they shared a love that will last an eternity. Loving mother of Marty (Vicky), Ann Marie, Edward (Ann) and Michele (Steve) and adoring Nana to Alexandra, Katharine, Rebecca, Nicholas, Grace, Ryan, Ainsley and Brandon. Dear sister of Jennie, Ed (predeceased), Eileen and John, and Aunt Tessie to her many wonderful nieces and nephews. Born in Toronto to Andrew and Mary Wesolowski, Tess started her working career as an elementary school teacher; shortly thereafter meeting her husband Martin at a Valentine’s Day dance. She loved to dance, spontaneously waltzing at family gatherings, singing to her children and grandchildren, and gracefully moving through life with kindness and an open heart to all. Tess cherished family time at her beloved cottage on Georgian Bay creating unforgettable memories, instilling a sense of familial strength, and always willing to share a private moment to listen. Tess enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends and was an avid reader with a keen interest in the world. She had a deep, spiritual faith which guided her throughout her life. Friends are welcome to call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3055 Bloor St. W. on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at 11 o’clock. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests considering a donation to Dorothy Ley Hospice www.dlhospice.org.

Tess will be forever in my heart. She was an amazing, brave, thoughtful friend who inspired me and was always there for her family and friends. Tess will be missed by so many.
Thinking of all her closely knit family at this very sad time.
With deepest sympathy,

Tess was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. We used to sit together at church before Covid hit. We met through Maxine Cramp a very close friend to Tess. We used to gather for coffee after mass and chat, it was so much fun and you never knew how many people would be joining us each week. I looked forward and truly enjoyed her company. God Bless, your kind soul will be missed.

Marty. Your Mother was an amazing person who treated me like one of her own from age 10 when you and I became life-long friends. Remembering her fondly and thinking of all of you today.
