In Celebration of

Terrence Anthony Ramalho

September 21, 1948 -  July 7, 2024

We're sad to share that Tony Ramalho passed away on Sunday, July 7th, at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Born in Georgetown, Guyana, in 1948, Tony embarked on a new chapter of his life when he moved to Canada in 1971. It was here that he met the love of his life, Paulette, whom he married in 1974. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Lisa, born in 1979, and Lana, born in 1983. Tony is survived by his beloved wife Paulette, his cherished daughters Lisa and Lana, and his four adored grandchildren: Cassandra, Madison, Jacob, and Mae.

Tony had a profound love for music, composing numerous original works and recording several albums. His joy extended beyond the creative arts; he was passionate about the outdoors and was an avid jogger who competed in numerous marathons. In his retirement, Tony's wanderlust led him to explore many parts of the world, including Portugal, Spain, the United States, and a return to his homeland of Guyana. One of his most memorable adventures was touring the Amazon rainforest.

Tony's legacy is one of love, music, adventure, and dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed by his wife, children and grandchildren, as well as his brothers and sisters.

A funeral service to honor Tony's life will be held at Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel (1981 Dundas St W, Mississauga) on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Springcreek Cemetery (1390 Clarkson Rd N, Mississauga).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the charity of your choice.
Tony’s adventurous and loving spirit will always be with us.

It is with deep & heartfelt sadness that I learnt of the passing of my dear cousin Tony. I have very fond memories of our humble & very modest upbringing in Guyana. Tony was always a gentleman with a quiet & pleasant demeanor. He always had a smile with a gentle twinkle in his eyes. He will forever be remembered. May His Soul Rest In Peace!

I was fortunate to have met Tony 20 short years ago, soon after meeting his daughter Lana who I married. Tony welcomed me into his home and treated me with respect since day one. He was always kind, calm and pleasant. Over the years he offered Lana and I unlimited encouragement and support in our many ventures of life. I will very much miss our conversations about business, the state of the world and my daughter, his granddaughter Mae. I always enjoyed his company, his love for music and his positive outlook. Tony was a true gentleman who loved his family and received our love in return. I could not ever ask for a better father in-law or a better grandfather to my daughter who has so many happy memories of her own of “Grandpa”. She loved their walks around the neighborhood, and she couldn’t wait for him to come over so she can show him all her new things. Tony never disappointed her. He always showed her all the interest in the world with a smile. I will forever be grateful for having Tony in our lives and we will always love him and miss him. Rest in peace Tony.
