In Celebration of

Teresa Lupinacci

February 16, 1939 -  December 22, 2024

We are terribly saddened to announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Teresa Lupinacci (nee Sebastiano) at the age of 85, on December 22, 2024. Predeceased by her husband Fortunato Lupinacci, she leaves behind many family members and many devoted friends. Our mother immigrated to Canada at the age of 12 from Italy. After marrying, she worked in banking for several years advancing in her career. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy in life. Mom enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She was a loyal and dear friend to Heather and Linda, an avid tennis fan and reader, was well informed on world politics and devoted many years of her life to volunteering in the mental health field, to fundraise and offer support to families in crisis. She was loving and compassionate to everyone. Heartfelt thanks to the PSW home care workers and nurse while mom was receiving care at home, her exceptional doctor, Dr. Gilchrist, the entire nursing team, PSW workers and volunteers at Dorothy Ley Hospice for their compassionate care, professionalism, excellence and support. There is no doubt that our mother is once again reunited with her husband Fortunato, cherished grandson Paul and her loving parents Frank and Marietta Sebastiano.

Guests can say goodbye at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor Street West. Visitation Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 3-7pm. Funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3055 Bloor Street West, Etobicoke on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11am. Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery. For those wishing to make donations, they can be made in mom’s name to the Dorothy Ley Hospice.

My heartfelt condolences to Nella’s children, grandchildren and sister Lina. Nella was a lovely friend of my mother and, in her later years, a dear friend of mine. Nella never missed a Christmas, Easter or any other special occasion without a cheerful phone call to say hello. A beautiful, charming and thoughtful lady has left the building. She will be missed.
