In Celebration of

Teresa Laly Jose

March 14, 1969 -  May 6, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce that our darling Teresa Laly passed away on May 6, 2023 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Our family would like to thank the whole Palliative Care team at Trillium Mississauga especially Lorraine, Lamar, Nathaniel and Daman.

Teresa Laly was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother, friend, mentor and colleague.

Teresa Laly was a very private and spiritual person. As per Teresa Laly‘s last wishes there will be no funeral service.

“Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there,
Keep me alive in your beautiful hearts with unforgettable memories. Teach others what you've learned from me and I will live on forever."

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society at

My deepest condolences, love and prayers to all of you. I pray that Laly’s next journey is filled with peace and comfort.
I am still in disbelief that she has departed this world and I hope we all find peace in remembering her beautiful soul.
I’ve known all of you from my very beginnings and Laly has always held such a special place in my heart because she was always beyond calm and rational and in the same breeze really empathetic and focused on your well-being.
Sharp sense of humour and an endless smile.
Her love and support to me over the years will be missed, but she has guided me in ways that will remain with me forever. I am forever blessed and thankful to have known her in my life as my friend.

Here for you always,
Jeannie

My heart breaks at the news of your passing. It was a privilege to call you a ‘dear friend’ and because of you I learnt the importance of optimism, hope and the sheer joy in simple laughter.
Thank you for the endless fun on our shared travel adventures, for your smile; it could light even the darkest of rooms and for your calm, compassionate and selfless nature that was too good for this world.
Your light will always be alive with our family and we will speak of you often with love. May you rest in eternal peace.

We have been friends for 20 years since you became my counselor for UofT Disability. On the second visit we became friends and have been friends ever since.
We have been assisting one another through different episodes of good and bad experiences. She understood the meaning of me being a psychic and I watched as she grew through her spiritual episodes. She was kind, sincere, cheerful even when in pain, accepted whatever came her way and she did her best to find her way of handling her bodily ills. As I travel through my life she will be remembered with love. Blessings to her and to her family.

Our hearts break at the news of your passing. How blessed were we to call you our dear friend? Your calm, wise, selfless and compassionate nature were what set you apart. That smile! Your laughter and wit! You lit even the darkest of rooms and left those you touched, lighter and happier for having spent a moment in your company. Thank you for the legacy you left behind and until we meet again, rest easy dear Laly and I promise to speak of you often. X
