In Celebration of

Terence Theodore Reece

March 15, 1926 -  July 3, 2023

With great sadness, we announce that Terry passed away peacefully at home on Monday July 3, 2023, at the age of 97. He has now joined Sissy, his beloved wife of 75 years, who passed away in April of last year.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved children Peggy (Brian), Sharon (Harold) and Ian (Nadia). He was a devoted grandfather to Jennifer, Richard, Rachel, Jonathan, Daniel, Sarah and Michelle. A cherished great-grandfather to Oliver, Clara, Jack, Charlie, Eden and Eva.

Terry was born in St.Thomas, Barbados. He first worked as a telegraph operator during the Second World War. Terry and Sissy were married there and then they settled in Toronto’s west end in 1949 to raise their family. He worked at Ontario Hydro as an electrical draftsman until retirement.

Besides being a loving father and grandfather, Terry was a published writer, an avid gardener, skilled carpenter and a keen tennis player. He will be remembered for his great kindness, his tremendous wit but mostly for being a true gentleman. He will remain in our hearts forever.

There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, August 12 at 11 am at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Islington.

In lieu of flowers, Terry wished that any donations be made to the Humane Society of Toronto.
