In Celebration of

Alexander Taylor

February 22, 1935 -  March 5, 2021

He passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Kathy. Loving father of Michael (Karen), Lynn (John) and Joyce (Rick). Cherished grandfather to his extended family, David, Christy, James, Allison and Katrina.

His life began in Germany, but Hungary was his home, after a stay in England during the war. He then ventured here in his twenties to settle in Canada. He had so many stories to tell, and he was a wealth of information. So many people’s lives have been touched by him, and he will be missed so much…beyond words.

A private family service will be held this week and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Donations to Heart & Stroke are welcome.

Online condolences may be made through www.turnerporter.ca

I am grateful for the times I was able to spend with this wonderful human being and a shining soul. I will always remember how he always made sure I feel my Slovakian home also in Canada with the amazing food he used to bring over. He was a special person, always going over and beyond to make others happy and make them feel safe. He always brought a smile to everyones face reminding them that the good and happy comes within as he was a living example. I will miss him greatly, and I am very sorry I can't be closer to the rest of the family in these hard times.
Forever in my heart
Love, Christy and Samuel

Deepest condolences to the family during this difficult time from my family.

I met Alex Taylor when I was just 3. Gosh so long ago now 😳. So many memories of him that I had to write something; as his family was my second family. We were close indeed! It was because of Alex I first heard of Hungary. At first, my young self thought “hungry”...there’s a place called Hungry...do they eat all day? It was a bit confusing but I figured it out. Then I thought hmm that would be a nice place to visit. Alex was a kind, funny man. I think he probably enjoyed teasing me since I was so darn quiet!! I recall whispering my dinner preferences to my friend Joyce when eating at their home instead of saying it out loud. In fact when I last saw Alex a few years ago even he remembered this and teased me all these years later lol. Great guy!
Aa we got older I remember going to visit him at the Moose Lodge. I thought it was so cool that we could go in. See the people in there.
As I got even older, life drifted our families apart. But Alex and his family will always remain close to my heart. These people were my childhood, my growing up years and my extended family.

Up to the stars now. Perhaps my parents will meet you up there for a reunion. RIP Mr. Taylor. You were a special person to me.
