In Celebration of

Steven Salb

April 12, 1934 -  December 10, 2024

It is with sadness that we share the passing of our dear Dad, Steven Salb, on December 10th at Mississauga Trillium Hospital in his 90th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann (nee Palfi), he is survived by his children Linda (Eric), Thomas (Abby), and James (Helen), as well as his many extended family members both in Germany and Canada. Steve delighted in being a proud Opa to his five grandchildren: Jordan, Hayley, Mark, Lincoln, and Avery.

A long-time respected member and leader of the Kolping Society of Canada (Toronto), Steve's sense of duty, faith, and devotion to his family sustained him, as well as his love of song. Steve was a dedicated member of the German men's choir Harfentone for over 50 years. Through both Kolping and the Choir, he made many friends around the world. Steve's clear baritone voice joyfully led our family sing-a-longs every Christmas Eve. Recently, he favoured singing at the Sunday evening services at Sunrise Mississauga, where he happily spent the last year of his life.

We welcome friends to the visitation on Monday, December 16th from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel. Address: 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga, ON. The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, December 17th at 11:00 am at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Mississauga, with a reception to follow in the church hall. Address: 921 Flagship Drive, Mississauga, ON.

Expressions of sympathy can be made to the charity of your choice.

Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh Dad.

Memories of living on Runningbrook included the chats with my dear neighbours on Autumn Harvest. Ann and Steven were absolutely the kindest people. My best memory of your dad was seeing his weekly Sunday walks to the church and back. He lived a long life and was blessed with a loving family. To his children, especially Jimmy(classmates of Nick and Julie) may you continue the tradition of singing each Christmas Eve and surely he will sing right along with you!
