In Celebration of

Stella Severin

August 18, 1919 -  March 14, 2019

With family at her side, our beloved Mother, Nonna and Bisnonna left us peacefully in the early morning of March 14th, a few months shy of her centenary birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Alberto and is survived by daughters Bruna Marriott (Bubba), Jeanine Severin (the late Harvey Tremblay) and Mary Clayton (Don). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Tim Clayton (Chris), Sean Marriott (Tanya) and Tara Rall (Matthew) and great grandchildren Andrew, Melanie, Zachary, Rachel, Avery and Stella along with many relatives and friends, especially her niece Iolanda Rossi to whom she became a second Mother.

We marvel at her long, productive life from humble and challenging beginnings in Paese, a village near Venice, through her immigration and settlement in Port Credit (now Mississauga) in 1954 and her final years in comfort and contentment in a retirement home in the community. Last Christmas, was an especially joyous occasion as we celebrated her 100th and her namesake Baby Stella’s 1st Noel.

An excellent cook and gardener, she continued making favourite dishes for family gatherings well into her 90’s (her lasagna was especially delectable) and her array of ornamental plants with their impressive blooms elicited many compliments. Those who knew Stella appreciated her devotion to family, boundless energy and strength, gentle humour and wisdom. Rest in peace, dear Mother, as you reunite in eternal life with our Father and loved ones.

Friends and relatives may call at Turner & Porter 'Peel' Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga (Hwy 10, North of QEW) on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 2 to 5.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s Star of the Sea, 11 Peter Street South (Lakeshore Road, East of Mississauga Road) on Monday March 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

"We’ll see you in our dreams."
