In Celebration of

Stella May Sibbald

September 28, 1931 -  January 25, 2024

Went to be with her Lord on January 25, 2024 at the age of 92. Predeceased by her beloved husband Hayward (2018), her daughter Lynda Wilson (2007) and Lynda’s husband Grant (2013). She leaves behind her devoted son Lawrie (Tina). Her grandchildren Andrew (Ashlynn), Matthew, and Lauren will dearly miss Granny Sibs.

Stella had a dry wit and when she laughed she did so with her whole body. She loved to go out to eat. Until very recently, she could still crush an Apache Burger like nobody’s business. She was also a fixture at The Dundas Street Grille, weekly, for many years. Another favourite was: “Do you feel like ice cream?, which was code for “Take me to Humbertown for ice cream”.

Since 2018 Stella embodied unwavering independence, determined to stay in the home she loved until her very last day. Her keen presence and active engagement persisted until her final hour, and it was she who authored the concluding chapter of her remarkable journey.

A private family burial will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be made to Daily Bread Food Bank, or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (King St. Toronto).
