In Celebration of
Stefan Jambor
August 6, 1940 -
February 19, 2022
Passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Krystyna for 54 years. Loving father of Elizabeth (Jerry) and Urszula (Dominic). Cherished grandfather of Samantha, Stefanie, Melanie, Oskar, and Julia.
Stefan was the youngest of seven children, born to Jan Jambor, a farmer, and Józefa (née Toborek) in the village of Dołowatka in Poland.
He emigrated to Canada in 1960, crossing the ocean on the TSS Stefan Batory, where he joined his eldest brother in Toronto. There he met, on an infamous blind date, Krystyna (née Chmiel), and together crafted a life full of love.
Throughout his life, Stefan worked hard. Whether as a skilled baker or the family’s MacGyver, he could always be counted on. He always delivered on the dance floor too and loved a good party.
Stefan’s lively sense of humour and willingness to make the best of whatever came his way coloured the lives of those around him. Family, friends, and co-workers were often greeted with a warm smile, a jovial comment, and an offer of help if needed.
Stefan died as he lived, with fortitude, grace, and great humour.
