In Celebration of

Stanley Blakeley

July 13, 1926 -  July 26, 2022

On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, Stanley Blakeley passed peacefully in his ninety-seventh year at Credit Valley Hospital.

Stanley was predeceased by his wife Connie Blakeley (neé Pomeroy) in 2005. Connie and Stanley were wed on May 20, 1960.
Brian Blakeley and spouse Marianthi Ioannou of Toronto and Patricia Blakeley of Mississauga will dearly miss dad’s warm humour and love of life. Stanley will be also missed by sister-in-law Donna Pomeroy of Hamilton, Ontario and his many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews in Canada, Northern Ireland, Scotland, England and Australia.

Stanley, born on July 13, 1926, was the last living child of the ten children born to Joseph Henry Blakely and Anne Eliza Blakely neé Kingsmore of Dunmurry, Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Following in the footsteps of his brothers, John, David and Bertie, Stanley enlisted in the armed services of the United Kingdom in September 21, 1943 and served as a gunner’s assistant in the Royal Marines until December 30, 1946.

There will be a private service as per Stanley’s wishes.

We thank the doctors, nurses and staff for their professional care and kindness to our dad in the final difficult days of his life.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Trillium Health Partners Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made at https://trilliumgiving.ca

Patricia, Brian and Mary,
I read your Dad's obituary with great interest. It was nicely done; I learned so much I hadn't known before. I know that your Dad had a long and interesting life, with such a grand sense of humour. I used to love listening to your Mom & Dad and my Mom & Dad in our living room, chatting and laughing. I can imagine that is what they are doing now that they are all together again. Our Mom's knew each other for most of their lives. When I see pigeons I think of your father and smile. May your memories sustain you at this time.
Much affection,
Joanne xo
