I give my heartfelt sympathies to the whole family at this sad time and especially to Jeffrey who gave me away on my second marriage. I had a lovely friendship for 54 years with Smiliana through the four seasons of her life with many happy times of fun and laughter, family gatherings too but also sharing in sad times . Health takes its toll in many ways and we don't always understand why things happen in later years to keep us apart .

If we could foresee the future we would treat people and things in life differently.

Now, I pray my dear friend Smiliana that you are safely home and at peace in this new journey and a new season. You are greatly missed by me.

May God fill you all with His peace and love today and always.

Your dear friend

Betty

I have such lovely memories of Mrs. Smaila growing up. She was always outside, working in her gardens, gardens I watched grow more beautiful year by year. I remember asking my mom why she didn't have gardens like that! Mrs. Smaila used to give us cookies, and enjoy watching all the kids play. She let us run through her yard all hours of the day and night without complaint. The neighbourhood hasn't been the same since she left.
