It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Slavko Blazic, shortly after his 83rd birthday, at Mississauga Hospital on October 20th with his beloved wife of 54 years, Mirjana, at his side. Born in Bosiljevo, Croatia, Slavko came to Canada as a young man in 1960 but his heart never fully left his home or his people. He will be dearly missed by his wife, daughter Ann, son-in-law Mike and his granddaughters Grace and Lauren of whom he was so proud, and who equally cherished their 'Dida' so much. He was predeceased by his son Joseph, sister Marica and is survived by his brother Ivica, Ivica's wife Helena and their children, and his uncle Stjepan, wife Katarina and their family.
A visitation will be held at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor St. W, Toronto (Bloor/Jane) on Wednesday, October 25th from 5 - 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Croatia Church at 7 Croatia St., Toronto on Thursday, October 26th at 10:00 a.m. with the burial to take place at Assumption Catholic Cemetary at 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga. A celebration of life will follow at Croatia Restaurant on 1989A Dundas St. E, Mississauga.
"A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone's friend.
In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of the one we love, and will never forget."
