In Celebration of

Silvina Pessoa

September 13, 1932 -  January 31, 2024

Peacefully surrounded by her three loving and devoted children, Silvina Pessoa’s journey ended here on earth. She will be greatly missed by her beloved children Silvina (Aderito), Lino (June), and Joe (Brenda); and also by her 7 surviving grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She joins her husband, Lino, and grandchild, Jessica, already in heaven. Silvina moved through life with elegance, grace and strength as demonstrated in her final days.

Silvina was born in Reixida, Portugal, where she married the love of her life, Lino. Together they immigrated to Toronto in 1969. Silvina and Lino’s love story was one of a kind, filled with mutual respect, deep devotion and care for one another, creating a warm and nurturing environment for the whole family. Silvina extended her warmth and compassion as an Educational Assistant for a special education classroom, a role she held until her retirement.

Silvina wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and had a quick wit. She loved to laugh and marvelled at joy in others. Silvina had a passion for cooking and baking, which was only matched by her passion for eating. Delicious aromas, laughter and full bellies were always on the menu.

The family would like to thank Silvina’s caregivers, Fatima, Isabel and Francesca, for their warmth and care.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5-8 p.m.

I will always remember Silvina fondly. She was a loyal friend, a wonderful colleague and a beautiful person inside and out.
I remember her delicious orange muffins that she would often bake for me. My deepest condolences to her family. Silvina will be greatly missed
