An accomplished business owner with a generous heart, Mr. Sieunarine "Sam" Gualbance, was the President of Chelsea, a major Canadian company specializing in seafood. He was born in 1949 in Libertville, Rio Claro and attended Tagore Centenary College, Princes Town and St. John's College in San Fernando. He started his first job at the Scarlet Ibis Hotel, and later worked at Joseph Charles Bottling Works and the Trinidad Express newspaper.

He immigrated in 1970 to Kingston, Ontario, Canada where he was then employed at the Holiday Inn, first as a receptionist and then as reservation manager. A career move to the food service industry led to a job in retail sales with a major international food distribution company. In 1997, Sam made a very bold career move when he bought the Chelsea name and ventured into seafood distribution, which is now a major Canada wide company. Sam never forgot his humble beginnings in Trinidad and Tobago and was always generous in giving back to his native community. Sam brought joy to many needy children in Trinidad and he will forever be missed.

Survived by his beloved wife Cynthia Gualbance and his two sons, Jason and Justin Gualbance.
