In Celebration of

Shirley Jeannine Jesson

June 30, 1929 -  March 29, 2019

Shirley Jeannine Jesson (Stevens) was a loved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt, daughter, friend, and the matriarch of her family. After 89 years of love and laughter, Shirley is reunited with Leslie Ralph Jesson, her husband and the one and only love of her life, who passed away in 1992. Shirley passed away quietly on Friday, March 29, 2019.

Her beautiful life story will forever be cherished in the lives of: her 3 children; son Daniel Jesson (Joanie), daughter Lesley Jones (Stephen), and son David Jesson (Paul Stewart), her 6 grandchildren; Findlay Jesson-Sidenberg (Aaron), Caley Vandervelt (Lars), Dane Jesson (Giselle Zhou-Jesson), Alexandra Skyvington (Brett), Madison Jones (John Gallant), and Samantha Jones, and her 4 great-grandchildren; Grae, Reave, Zooey, and Charlotte Jeannine. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Mabel Steed, her husband, Leslie, and her sister Joan DeWilde.

Shirley’s family is forever grateful that she spent her entire life caring unconditionally for her family members. Shirley was the ultimate caregiver to everyone: her husband, her sister, her children and her grandchildren. She loved to play cards, watch Dancing With the Stars, travel, go to the movies, and enjoy a hot cup of tea with a sweet. She will always be remembered for her laughter, her light-hearted nature, and finding great joy in everyday simple things.

We miss you already, and forever! "Nana", your cane will never be misplaced again; it has a permanent home alongside our fireplace.

Dearest Shirley, I am missing you already although I
I live so far away. What beautiful cherished memories I have of you....starting with laughter in the kitchen of your home in the 70's as Les and I prepared to hit the discos and pubs. You always had a twinkle in your eye and would make me chuckle. Such a gift to us all you were. Thank you for your kindness over the years and for taking the time for genuine heart felt conversation. Your love for your beautiful family and your relentless energy will always be treasured. Your Joie de Vivre days travelling with Joan are an inspiration to live life to the fullest. Cheers to you most beautiful lady.
Love you,
Janet Mulligan

Nana, I love you more than words can say. Mom and Alex keep reminding me that this great grief means that we had great love. Sam keeps reminding me that you were and still are, our angel. We still see you in our home everyday and we are forever grateful for you.
