In Celebration of

Shirley Edwards-Inouye

January 7, 1950 -  May 23, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother Shirley, at Credit Valley Hospital, on Sunday, May 23, 2021.

Cherished wife of Tetsuo, beloved mother of Stephanie (Andrew) and Katherine, adored Grandmother of Ava and Hannah. We take great comfort in knowing that she has been reunited with her late parents Brian and Mary, sister Joan and nephew David.

Shirley treasured every moment she spent with her family and always placed our needs ahead of her own. She was a fiercely loyal woman who inspired us with her courage and strength every day of her life.

Shirley’s life revolved around her daughters and later her granddaughters, who she loved more than anything. Nothing made her happier than a day spent with all “her girls” reading books, having tea parties and making those very memories that we now hold so dear to our hearts.

Married for nearly 41 years, Shirley’s love for her husband continued to grow with each passing day. After the wedding, she adopted Tetsuo’s family as her own, forming deep bonds with his sisters and their families.

She loved her sister Joan and brother-in-law Ron and was a doting Auntie to her nephews Dave and Rob.

Shirley’s love for her family extended past the reaches of her everyday life. She would often reminisce about the summers she spent growing up in Tweed on the farm with her many cousins, aunts and uncles.

A life filled with love is a life well lived. And Shirley was loved by so many. We all have our favourite memories of Shirley and we invite everyone to share them with us on her memorial page.

A private funeral Mass will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. Friends and family are invited to join virtually as the service will be live streamed on Saturday, May 29, 2021 beginning at 11:00 am.
