In Celebration of

Sharon Elaine Hills

January 5, 1953 -  November 12, 2020

With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Sharon. Sharon passed away at home on Thursday, November 12, 2020. Loving daughter of Roland and Norma Hills (predeceased). Beloved sister to Brian (Barbara) and David. Much loved aunt to Alaina (AJ), Geoffrey (Tsarina), Angela (Jon) and April (Devin). Sharon was born in Toronto and was a graduate of York University. Sharon was a devote member of both the Catholic and Anglican Church. Sharon had a very active social life (pre-COVID). Sharon was an active member of the Women's Temperance Union and was the Treasurer for a number of years. Sharon was very active in the community attending church and church activities as well as being involved in numerous charitable organizations. Sharon enjoyed going to the gym, long walks, was an avid theatre goer, member of TOPS and had a wide network of good friends. Sharon was an incredible woman with the heart and soul of a saint. Sharon was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at a young age which made her life very challenging. Sharon did not let her disease stop her from leading an active and fulfilling life. In lieu of flowers, donations made to CAMH (Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) would be appreciated

Sharon very much enjoyed attending performances by the National Ballet Company, subscribing to the full season. She was also a regular member of the audience at Toronto Symphony Orchestra concerts. We met at many of these events and enjoyed pre-concert conversations. I recall many years ago, my late husband and I met Sharon
at a Sunday afternoon concert, then hurried to St. Anne’s Church for Evensong only to meet Sharon again there! She was independent, using TTC to travel around town.
I offer my sincere condolences to her family.
I will miss her very much.
