In Celebration of

Scott Donald Kletke

April 15, 1963 -  August 2, 2023

Passed away suddenly after a valiant struggle with increasing health complications. Scott is predeceased by his dear parents, Donald and Nora Kletke. He is terribly missed by his loving wife Michelle McGibbon Kletke, their wonderful sons Elijah and Tristan Kletke, as well as their partners Evelyn Lubanski and Nicole Shigeishi. Scott was also a cherished brother to Marc Kletke and his partner Donna Chan, as well as his dear childhood friend Tim Jones and sisters in law; Meredith McGibbon, Sandy McAdams (Jason McAdams) and Kate McGibbon. He is also greatly missed by his niece Cassidy Culver and nephews Owen and Ryan McAdams.

Scott was deeply compassionate and devoted to those who shared in his life. He developed close connections through a vast spectrum of life experiences including sailing around the world aboard the Nordvag. The open water was home to him, and he greatly cherished the wonderful times with loved ones at both his family cottage and in Cognashene, on Georgian Bay. It was here, in the place he loved, where he passed suddenly, determined as ever to be there even as he struggled with his health.

Scott was an artist and a teacher in life and of life. He was an explorer with an expansive view of the world, a driven community leader, and a dear brother to us all. Loving and kind, Scott drew people in through attentive conversations and always strived to inspire empathy and compassion, with a good balanced education, reflecting on as many perspectives as possible. He loved to explore science and history and was an eternal student of human nature. His art is a legacy of colour and new dimensions. Scott was passionate for his community and brought people together.
During his time as president of the Lakeview Ratepayers Association he aided in saving an important piece of history, the Small Arms Inspection Building, where we will be holding a celebration of his life on September 11, 2023 at 5 p.m., 1352 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga, Ontario L5E 1E9.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. viewing from 2:30 until time of service. I met Scott (and Marc) at a meeting of the Green Party of South Mississauga so many years ago. It was good to interact with these brothers who shared the same values and compassion about the environment as I did.
My heartfelt condolences to the family, extended family, and friends of Scott.
I am so sorry for your loss .

Michelle, it's hard to find the words to describe what you and your boys are going through. Max and I send love and big hugs.
Scott's death is a terrible loss of a force for a civil, inclusive and environmentally healthy society.

Scott was truly one of the most tender people I’ve ever met. His soft voice and sweet face always made you feel safe and listened to. My deepest condolences to Michelle and their beautiful sons. I pray that God Almighty would comfort you during this most difficult time.
