In Celebration of

Saverio Simone

February 6, 1956 -  April 3, 2025

Saverio (Sam) Simone, beloved husband of forty-six years to Elena, cherished father of Frank (Vivian) and Maria (Ryan), and proud nonno of his angel Madeline Rose, left us too soon after a long battle with illness.

Saverio came to Canada at the age of eighteen with the hope of bringing his parents and his brother to this country for a better life. He was a man who was dedicated to his wife and children, but he also had great affection for and devotion to his extended family. He was very generous with his time and was always ready to lend a hand when a friend, neighbour, or relative needed his help. He always had an immense soft spot for children, and before visiting the home of any friend or relative, he made sure that he would have treats ready for all of the children that may be there. He was an exceptionally hard worker who sought to excel at everything that he did, whether it was at his job, his studies, his garden, or his favourite pastime, golf. A devout Catholic, he was also actively involved in the church community, having volunteered for many years at Holy Angels Parish.

He will also be missed by his brother and the many in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins he has both here and in Italy.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas Street West, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 5-9 p.m. Prayers will be held at 5 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Angels Parish, 61 Jutland Rd., on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 10 a.m. Followed by an entombment at Park Lawn Mausoleum.

In memory of Saverio, we ask friends and family to please make donations to St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto or to Parkinson Canada.

We are deeply saddened to hear about Saverio’s passing. During the times we spent with him, we felt his warmth and generosity—not only in his work and how he cared for his family, but in the way he welcomed us and made us feel like part of his own. We will remember his kindness and genuine spirit and we will cherish the memories of the moments shared in his home.

We hope that the light he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him continues to shine, bringing comfort and peace to his family and friends. With deepest condolences we keep Saverio’s remarkable legacy alive in our hearts.

Saverio was a kind and gentle soul. He was very involved at Holy Angels Church and dedicated many years as a member of the Mount Carmel Committee. Saverio, I always admired your dedication to your faith and to your family. You truly cared for others and I enjoyed talking with you and your wife after church. I am sorry you suffered so much and I hope that you are finally at peace.
