We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Sabina (Emma) Tiberi. Unexpectedly on January 26, 2025 at the age of 89, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, Emma, beloved wife of predeceased husband Giovanni Tiberi, passed peacefully.

Emma was the third of four children born in Celano, L’Aquila, Italy. She met her husband in 1963 and they were married in Italy in 1964 shortly after the sudden passing of her mother. They had three children Vincenza (Alfonso) Checchia, Liliana (David) Carter, Rocco Michael (Tina) Tiberi.

She was a bright guiding light who will be dearly missed by her children and her grandchildren Vanessa (Michael) Gioffre, Alivia (Gianluca) D’Acchille, Giovanni (Chloe) Tiberi, Lorenzo Tiberi, Marisa Carter and her great grand Children Mila Gioffre and Leo Gioffre. Emma was an uplifting, loving and compassionate woman who was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and her most recent privilege of becoming a great grandmother to Mila and Leo.

Her last days were spent enjoying the resurfacing of her beautiful singing voice that she was asked often to share and did so with great enthusiasm, singing old Italian folk songs.She will be remembered most for her immense courage to continue to rise up when devestating challenges confronted her and also for her gift of accepting her heartbreaks and losses and alchemising them into humble and profound offerings of service to her family, friends and community. Acts of service was how she showed her love.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Chartwell Robert Speck and The Shores of Port Credit and in particular the Memory Care Team who showed love, care and appreciation for Emma.

Family and friends are invited to Turner & Porter - Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga for visitation on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m.

Funeral Mass to be held at Mary Mother of God Parish, 2745 North Ridge Trail, Oakville on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 11 a.m.

Entombment at Glen Oaks Mausoleum, Oakville.
