Rostyslaw “Kuksa” Klukowskyj a retired Teacher from TCDSB and a long-time resident of Toronto, Ontario passed away peacefully on Friday March 7th, 2025.
Rostyslaw was born May 10th, 1940 in Poczajiw, Ukraine to Wolodymyr and Julianna (Kuspys) Klukowskyj.
Together with his parents and four sisters, Rostyslaw immigrated to America in 1950 from Ukraine, and settled their roots in Chicago, Illinois where his large family still resides.
Rostyslaw had many passions in life. He loved his family, friends, music, animals and going on adventures. He was always there to offer a helping hand, advice and a good laugh.
As a young boy, Rostyslaw joined a Ukrainian Youth Scouts Organization known as PLAST, and would go on to be one of the original founders of Vovkulaky. A group that still exists today.
Being a Plastyn, would not only gain him the nickname “Kuksa”, but would also forge a lifelong bond and strong friendships with his friends. His friends were like family to him. Together, they were unstoppable.
Rostyslaw studied in Chicago and earned an M.A. in Education, and later worked as a teacher before moving to Toronto, Ontario where he continued his teaching career.
Rostyslaw is survived by his loving and loyal wife of 45 years Chrystyna Klukowskyj, daughter Iryna (Oleksa) Boychuk, and Grandchildren Stephanie, Andrew, and Matthew.
In addition. Rostyslaw will be missed by his sister Oksana Pawlyk, 4 nephews, 6 nieces and grand nephews and grand nieces, along with many friends and past colleagues.
We will always love you, and keep you in our hearts.
