It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of Ronald D. Vichar at the age of 89 in the late afternoon on Friday, January 10th, 2025. Ron Sr. was surrounded by his loving family ending his battle with dementia.
Ron was born in Toronto, Ontario on April 12th, 1935, to Michael and Frances (Zanak) Vichar. Ron graduated from high school and he went on to major in electronics at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. He had an extensive teaching career at Central Technical School for over three decades.
Ron loved nature and spending summers up at the cottage in Muskoka with his family, friends, and pets. He had many passions in life including reading books, antiquing, road trips and boating adventures. Ron also shared a love for photography and taking photos. You could find Ron fixing clocks, radios, or electronic gadgets. He also loved classical music and playing piano, organ, or accordion.
Ron was a beloved husband, a devoted father and loving grandfather and is survived by his wife Daniela, his two children Monica, and Ron Jr. and his grandchildren Adryk, Radek and Kostas. He was also a loving father-in-law to Fernando, and his daughter in law Karenn.
Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. West, Toronto, on Friday January 24th from 2pm until the time for his celebration of life in the chapel at 3 pm. Refreshments will be held at the Dark Horse Restaurant following the service located on Bloor St., west of the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society.
