In Celebration of

Robert "Bumpy" Lindsay

July 7, 1934 -  December 14, 2022

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Robert James Lindsay, on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Roberta.
Loving father of Karen Sweet(Husband Ron), Barry Lindsay, Diane MacDonald(Husband Jeff) and Julie Lindsay.
Loving Grandfather of Robin Durie(Husband Gord), Kelly Sweet, Ryan Lindsay, Amanda Norton(Husband Brad), Megan Lamarche(Husband Brett), Nikki Prosow(Mark), Rob Lindsay and Josh Prosow.
Loving Great-Grandfather of Raina Norton and Crew Norton.

Dad will be remembered as Robert, Bob, Lindsay and of course Bumpy!

First and foremost Dad was a Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He naturally became a mentor, hockey coach, fishing buddy, golfer, friend and co-worker and much more to all of us who knew him well.

Each and every family member/extended family and friends had a personal bond with Dad as he supported them and the family unconditionally. We all felt safe and secure because of who he was.

Dad was a little like UNCLE BUCK ( Actor John Candy's character in the movie). Kind, Gentle, yet Whimsical at times with a strong presence of a man.
LOVEABLE to the end!

One fond memory in our childhood that my sisters and I were thank full at the time is Mom saying : "Wait till your Father gets home" in regards to discipline practices because Dad was the Good Cop!

Dad became better known as BUMPY once his first granddaughter (Robin) was born and was starting to speak. Trying to say Grandpa it came out Bumpy and so he became lovingly known as Bumpy to all!
He would say just don't call me LUMPY!!

We will Miss you Dad/Bumpy, but you will be in our thoughts forever!

Rest in Peace Dad/Bumpy!

I remember when Bumpy always used Brylcream in his dark hair and he would have a small black comb sticking out of the front pocket of his shirt he'd wear to work each day. I was very little at the time and Nan looked after me during the day and when Bumpy came home from work he would sit in his big comfy recliner chair to relax. I would climb up, take the comb out of his pocket, squeeze myself up in behind him and proceed to comb all the brylcream out of his hair. i was fascinated with the texture and it smelled good! Bumpy would let me go to town on his hair! I think he enjoyed it, because he would let me do it everyday when he got home it became a routine. Some would raise an eyebrow when they saw his new wild, unruly look but to tiny little me he was my masterpiece and he knew it!
The Star in my eyes, now the brightest star in the skies.

Love Kelly
