In Celebration of

Robert Harry (Bob) Edmonds

March 5, 1934 -  March 26, 2024

In his 91st year and very grateful for a wonderful life, Bob passed away peacefully on March 26 ready to join the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Patricia, who left us in 2005. Devoted and loving father of Kathy (Chris), Chris (Kristen), Jackie, and Bruce (Sandra). Very proud grandfather of Samantha, Andrea, Hilary, Madeleine, Amelia, Trent, Connor, Joe, Amanda, Kyle, and Carter. Delighted great grandfather of Evelyn. Big brother to Nancy (Don) and Steve (Carol).

From meagre beginnings at the height of the Great Depression, this natural born salesman worked his way to the top of the corporate world with a simple formula - work hard, be loyal and put people first. Everybody loved him. After 40+ years with Ingersoll Rand Corporation, Bob retired in 1998. His goal was to play lots of golf at his beloved York Downs and travel the world with Pat. But Pat’s declining health kept them close to home and her passing left a huge void in his life. Bob was lucky that Pat (quite presciently) had introduced him to Carol Davidson, a childhood friend from East York. Bob and Carol became wonderful partners for the next 12 years or so and they travelled extensively. And with several grandsons and granddaughters playing rep hockey, there was always a game to see. It’s quite possible that Bob was in every rink in the GTA and a few more beyond! Equestrian shows and dance competitions were also in the mix.

Bob will be sorely missed by his family, golf buddies, work associates, neighbours and friends. He had a positive impact on many lives and we are thankful for many wonderful memories. We are very grateful to the Roxborough Residence in Newmarket, The Residences on Yonge in Aurora, and the very professional and compassionate staff at Southlake Hospital in Newmarket for their wonderful care and support.

Friends may call at the Turner and Porter Neweduk- Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas Street West, Mississauga on Tuesday April 2, 2024 from 5-8pm. A tribute to Bob’s life will begin at 7pm.

Bruce & Family,

91!!! It sounds like he had an amazing life. Now I know where you got your sales skills :)

He probably had a great shot too!

I always use your patented line, "I'll sleep when I'm dead". It sounds like he earned his "sleep" and probably left you and your family with a ton of great memories.

See you Tuesday to celebrate of his life.

I had the pleasure of playing York Downs & Cutten Fields with Bob and son Chris, and can attest to the fact that he was a gentle man, who was passionate about his golf. My condolences to Chris and Kris, and all of the family.
