Robert George Porter, was born in Lachine, Montreal on May 8th, 1951. Son of George Porter and Ethel (Elizabeth) Porter, step-brother Jimmy and younger sister Lillian. He married the late Anne Porter (nee Pollick) on September 11th, 1976 in Montreal. Loving brother to Lillian and brother-in-law to Rod, brother-in law to Mary and Rod, Rita and Milton, he loved to spend time with family. Wonderful father to Samantha and father-in-law to Michael whom he had many great conversations. Fun and caring papa to grandson Matthew and granddaughter Isabella. He loved to play with Matthew and his trains, magnets, play hide-and seek and take him to the park. Loving Uncle to Stephanie and Tracey (Emma and Hailee). Longtime friend of Helene (and family), Lucien, Axel (and family).
Robert loved nature and going for long walks, taking pictures, making collages and home movies for family and friends. A longtime member of the Toronto Film Club and member of probus in Streetsville. An avid movie watcher since childhood, he particularly liked older movies and westerns that he used to watch with his father. Robert will be remembered as the caring and sweet man that he was.
Family and friends are invited for a visitation at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St. Mississauga, Ontario (N. of the QEW), on Tuesday, July 26 from 6 - 8 pm.
