In Celebration of

Robert "Bob" William Rabjohn

December 29, 1932 -  June 10, 2021

Bob, 88, died at home in Mississauga, June 10, 2021. Beloved husband of the Reverend Mary (nee Young), devoted father of Gordon Rabjohn (Kelley), Janice Jang (Steve), and Jill Heinerth (Robert McClellan). Proud grandfather of Cori (Jean-Luc), Robin, and Holly and predeceased by his brother Gordon.

Born in Toronto, he graduated from Forest Hill Collegiate in 1952 and Queen’s University (Engineering) in 1957. After retiring from Trane Company of Canada (1954-1995), he focused on photography, computers, cycling, canoeing, and local history. He was recognized for his lengthy service as a volunteer by the Province of Ontario. Bob acted as the permanent secretary for his engineering class, arranging reunions and charitable giving, served Applewood United Church on various committees for over 50 years, and helped the White Oaks Girl Guides on a multi-year building restoration project.

Bob’s fondest memories included travel with Mary and gathering with his oldest friends, who met annually for canoe excursions. Joy and laughter always filled family gatherings, and as he wished, he was held by his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren at his death.

A Memorial Service will be held on a later date. Please watch http://rabjohn.ca/obituary/ for updates.

Instead of flowers, Bob wishes that donations in his memory be made to his favourite charity, “Sleeping Children Around the World,” www.scaw.org.

Sending heartfelt condolences and the deepest respect for Bob, an outstanding gentlemen always. Robert was blessed with a brilliant mind and caring nature. He was a high-voltage problem-solver, ready to help others. His devotion to his dear wife, Mary, was epic. I first met Bob in Newport where we were neighbours and volunteers on various committees. I later sold his condo for him when he retired and he gave me a cherish gift of a huge plant the size of a tree. Four new trees have sprung up from the original and adorn every corner of my penthouse condo. These robust plants are daily reminders of Bob's vitality and generosity. RIP kind friend.

Mary, Gordon, Janice and Jill
I was so sorry to read of Bob's passing in this mornings newspaper. We had kept in touch over the past few years by phone and email. I know that Mary is in a nursing home and was wondering how she has been keeping. It must have been difficult for her with all the covid restrictions on visitors.
Please inform me when a memorial service is planned.
