In Celebration of
Robert (Bob) Joseph King
September 24, 1933 -
April 5, 2023
A very bright light returned to Spirit today, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 — in his 90th year.
Bob has rejoined his parents, Albert and Clara King, brothers Tom, Bill, Frank and Neil King, sisters Eleanor and Margaret (nee King) and his beloved life partner, Jeanne McCourt. Bob is survived by his brother, Al King and sister Pat Richards (nee King), loving King and Fecteau nieces, nephews and cousins, step children, Tamara Lopez, Roger Clarke, Maria Johnson (nee Lopez), Jim Badcock, Paulette Sproul (nee Lopez), Phil Sproul, step grandchildren, Kim Donald, Michael Johnson, David Johnson, Eric Johnson (Emma), Ryan Sproul (Lindsay), Kyle Sproul (Melissa), Brendan Badcock, Regan Badcock (Dave), Alex Clarke, Meghan Clarke, Brett Clarke (Ashley), Bronte Clarke, and step great grandchildren, Cillian James Miller and Mila Mackenzie Sproul.
Bob served proudly and honourably for 33 years with Toronto Fire Service (Yorkville) and 9 years with WheelTrans (TTC). In fact, it can only be said that Bob lived his entire life to serve others. Even over the last few years as he struggled with diminished abilities due to health issues, including dementia, Bob always found a way to make a meaningful connection, express gratitude, share his feelings and make a brighter day for others with his smile, singing, showmanship and light-hearted humour. Bob has contributed significantly to advance our understanding of how the condition of dementia specifically, and aging in general, cannot define or mar the human spirit within — we only need to open our eyes and hearts to one another. Bob’s smile and laughter was contagious The twinkle in his eye — unforgettable. His work ethic — second to none. We give sincere thanks to the staff at Wesburn Manor for almost 6-1/2 years of caring for this great man. A special thank you to each of Bob’s private caregivers for their tender loving care over the past 6 years
Shine on, Daddy Bob. Your soul lives forever

If you wish to make a donation, please choose a charity that makes your heart sing, or Donate to a healthier greener tomorrow.
Your generosity helps support our mission to inspire, educate and enable Canadians to plant and nurture trees to improve lives and address climate change.
