BETTINSON, Richard Francis, AACI, M.A.I. ~
Born in Pelly, Saskatchewan, WW II Veteran with RCAF/RAF (radar) 1940 – 1945. Passed away peacefully, in his sleep, at 97 years of age, at Northridge Long Term Care Facility, Oakville, on Friday, November 9, 2018. Dick was a man of few words. He loved to golf, curl, travel and attend his well-known fishing trips to B.C. and North Saskatchewan. Beloved husband of the late Inez Margaret (nee King). Loving father of Richard King (Mary) of California and Philip James (Carole) of Oakville, Ontario. Dear grandfather of Kimberley (John), Bradley (Dahnalda), Taylor (Karyn) and Jeremy (Maggie). Also, great grandfather to Maddy, Lily, Kate, River, Wilder, Archer, Ariana, Brayden, Kyah, Jakub and Bianka. Richard was predeceased by siblings Marjorie Henderson, Barbara Kobold, Francis William, Gerald Charles and Lorna Hazel Thomas. He was employed by the Prudential Insurance Co. of America (Investments) for 35 years. He will be missed by friends of the Markland Wood Country Club and as a member of Bloordale United Church. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Neweduk-Erin Mills Chapel, 1981 Dundas St. W. (east of Erin Mills Pkwy.) on Thursday from 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Glendale Memorial Gardens. If desired, remembrances may be made to Crohns and Colitis Canada (Halton Chapter).

Richard and Philip,

So very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. I was his secretary at Prudential (mortgage department). We had a respectful and caring relationship for a number of years. Deepest sympathy to you both.
