In Celebration of

Reuben X. Poirier

September 7, 1935 -  May 10, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Reuben Poirier announces that he has passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020, in his 85th year. Reuben will forever be remembered for the pride that he had in his family, his gentle nature, his love of the Montreal Canadians & bowling, and his frequent visits to Tim Horton’s. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 60 years, Barbara, and his children, Stephen Poirier (Cathy) & Anne Ponzo (Dave), and his 4 grandchildren, Samantha, Alicia, Adam & Anthony.

The family takes great comfort in the compassionate care that he received at Trillium Health Partners – Mississauga Hospital, especially during these challenging times.

A Celebration of Life will take place in the near future.

If desired, donations in Reuben’s honour are appreciated and can be made to the Trillium Health Partners Foundation.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Uncle Ruben's passing. So many wonderful memories with him, either when visiting in Toronto, or him & Aunt Barb with Stephen & Anne coming to visit us at my parents' place when I was a teen, and in the later years, watching an Expos game with him in Montréal and going for classic smoked meat!
My condolences to the family - to Aunt Barb, Stephen & Anne & their spouses as well as the grandchildren.
I can hear his voice & laughter as I write this.
I'm going to miss you Uncle Ruben.
Love, Shawn xxx
