In Celebration of
Raymond Alderic Pillon
July 10, 1926 -
August 1, 2019
With heavy hearts we announce that after more than 93 years of living and loving, Ray passed from this world peacefully and with dignity. Born and raised in Windsor Ontario to Alexine and Theophile Pillon, he was brother to Gloria, Victor and James.
Raymond entered university at age 16 and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Detroit. In 1950 he married Eileen Corriveau. Together, they were blessed with four children, Gregory (Jacquie), Paul (Kelly), Kathryn (Bob) and Jacqueline. Moving from Windsor to Michigan to London and finally to Mississauga, family was always the focus of their lives. Each of their 6 grandchildren, Charles, Mischa, Jocelyn, Cameron, Erik and Daniel were cherished and celebrated.
When Eileen passed on in 2001, Ray filled the tremendous void by remaining active in his church and playing trumpet in 2 big bands, most notably, Sophisticated Swing. He was proud to be playing the music he loved.
In 2004, Ray married Evelyn Costigan and they began a new and exciting chapter of his life. Travelling the world, they shared amazing adventures. At home in Canada or Florida, social events kept them busy; Bridge nights, Probus meetings, weekly snooker games and breakfast with “the boys”, were only some of the things on his calendar. He was grateful for and treasured his friendships. His was a life well lived and he will be sorely missed.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, 2300 Burnhamthorpe Rd W, Mississauga ON L5L 3T6 with visitation starting at 9:45 a.m.
Donations in Raymond’s memory can be made to the Parkinson Society Canada.
