In Celebration of

RENZO SANDRO VERTOLLI

January 30, 1936 -  September 18, 2023

With a heavy heart and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of Renzo Sandro Vertolli on Monday, September 18, 2023, at the age of 87. Renzo's life was a testament to his love and devotion to his family, and he will be immensely missed.

Renzo was the beloved husband of Anna for a wonderful 63 years. He was the loving father of Riziero “Reg” (Andrea), Diva (Mario), and Anne (Vincenzo). He was a proud Grandfather to Alyssa (Chris), Quinton, Christian, Samantha, Jacob, Gianluca, Simone, and Great-Grandfather to Marielle.

Renzo was a dear brother to Pasqualina (Raimondo), Luigina (Bruno), Marcella (Antonio), Romeo (Mary), and Renata (Luigi).

Born in Campotosto in the province of L’Aquila, Italy, to Riziero and Rosa, Renzo embarked on a life-changing journey when he immigrated to Canada in December of 1952, seeking a brighter future with new opportunities. He worked as a high-pressure welder, millwright, and boilermaker at Ontario Hydro, Lakeview Generation Station (1968 - 2001). He was known for his expert welding skills and was always eager to lend a helping hand to friends and family.

Renzo enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and instilled in them his hard work ethic and the importance of family.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga, on Sunday, September 24th, 2023, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Church, 921 Flagship Dr., Mississauga, on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:30 a.m.

After the mass, Renzo will be laid to rest at Assumption Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga.

Renzo leaves a legacy of love, wisdom, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

For those who wish, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

My father had my back.
I am known to be outgoing and self-confident.
As I always knew, no matter what trouble I would inevitably get into, my Dad was always ready to be at my side to help and lend a hand.
He preferred to work and provide and stay too close to home, but a day would never go by that he did not call me and check in.
I will miss him in many ways, but going forward without my rock will be hard.
He is now at peace with his family that has gone before him in Heaven, which comforts me.
We will see each other again, Dad.
