In Celebration of

Purissima Melchiorre

January 3, 1937 -  January 8, 2021

Purissima Melchiorre (nee Cirillo) was born on January 3rd, 1937 in the small town of Conga Della Campania, in the Province of Caserta, Italy and sadly passed away from cancer at home with her family by her side on January 8th, 2021.

Purissima and Giuseppe immigrated to Toronto, Canada in April of 1967 with their two boys to begin a new chapter in their life. She worked tirelessly to help provide a better life for her family, always considering their needs before her own. Purissima had a passion for cooking, which will be dearly missed by family members and friends who had the pleasure to enjoy a meal at her table. She was an especially kind person, who always had a smile and an open door for anyone she met.

Purissima and Giuseppe were completely devoted to each other throughout their 58 years of marriage, rarely a day apart. Purissima leaves behind her loving husband, Giuseppe and her two sons Luciano (Kimberly) and Giampiero (Margaret). She was a dedicated and doting Nonna to Matthew, Emily, Julia, Elizabeth and Michael. Purissima is survived by her six siblings, Rita, Silvana, Aurora, Antonio, Roberto and Patricia.
We feel truly blessed to have had such a special wife, mother and Nonna in our lives; she will be sorrowfully missed, never forgotten and loved forever.

We offer our sincerest thanks to Credit Valley Hospital, and the nurses and workers from LINH and Acclaim Health, who provided exceptional care with compassion and dignity for Purissima, so that she was able to spend her final days at home.

Due to COVID protocols, a private funeral mass followed by entombment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mississauga.

A funeral mass for family and friends will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Trillium Foundation.

Giuseppina and Purissima were lifelong friends. Their friendship began in their birthplace in Conca della Campania, Italy from when they were young girls. Purissima was Giuseppina's husband, Ortensio, cousin. There was always a love and respect between Giuseppina and Purissima that will continue in Giuseppina's heart always. Purissima confirmed Giovanna and Maria Cirillo. She always held a special place in both their hearts. Although we recently did not see each other often, there was always contact and conversations and love between everyone. We will all miss Purissima's smile, laughter and mutual love and respect. Our heartfelt condolences to Giuseppe, Luciano, Gianpiero and their families as well as Purissima's sister, brother and families. We love you.

To Giuseppe and Your Family
Joe I have always felt at times like this there is no little anyone can say, for there are no words that have ever been invented to fit the loss of a loved one.
Your loss is shared by many and sympathize more than words can say.
One day last year while having cake and coffee at your place Purissima gave me a china cup which has a special place in my cabinet. Joe please come and visit me.
My Prayers are with you and your lovely family.
GOD Bless
Bob
