Piotr Walther

October 19, 1946 -  October 26, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Piotr Walther, who left us following a long illness on October 26, 2024, at Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga, at the age of 78.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Hanna, and a loving father to Kasia, Tony, Paul and his wife Nicola. He took great joy in being an adored grandpa to Paul, his wife Daniela, Adam, John, and Sarah.

Piotr was a true family man, known for his wicked sense of humor and his many talents. Always ready to lend a helping hand, he offered practical advice and support when it was needed. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and foraging for wild mushrooms, sharing his passion for nature with everyone around him.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends, whose lives he touched with kindness and laughter.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter “Peel” Chapel, located at 2180 Hurontario St. (Hwy. 10, N of the QEW), on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trillium Health Partners-Mississauga, Palliative Care, in recognition of the extraordinary and compassionate care provided by Dr. Asha Gupta and the dedicated healthcare staff at the hospital.

Dear Grandpa,
I struggle to find the words to tell you how much joy and generous support you gifted me after my arrival in Canada. I could listen to your captivating stories or Russian poems without ever asking for a break. I have grown so fond of you in such a short amount of time, that I ended up loving you as much as my own grandpa. You reminded me so much of him. Men like you are rare. Your laughter was like the sun on an autumn day, bringing the healing warmth that helps one prevail in the long winter ahead. I will keep your laughter in my heart for all the seasons that we will be walking through without you, as well as the cherished memories at the cottage, and the sweet aroma of your Thai curry.
Farewell, dziadzia!

Dear All,
I am so sorry for the loss of your husband, father, grandpa, and much more. My thoughts are with the whole family at this very sad time. I can only offer my condolences and a brief reminder of my happy memories of Uncle Peter when we spent the summer together by the lake as children.
Lots of love and wishes
