In Celebration of

Philip Robert Harry Kee

January 27, 1949 -  September 17, 2023

Unexpectedly on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Sunrise of Mississauga in his 75th year. Phil is survived by his loving wife of 50 years and best friend, Lynne, as well as his brothers and sisters; Eleanor, Richard (Marjorie) and Douglas (Debra). He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Phil enjoyed the outdoors and spent many happy hours searching for birds at Point Pelee, hiking in the Southwestern United States as well as in Africa, and exploring the waters of Georgian Bay for many sunny summers. He was an avid curler and made many lasting friendships at the curling club.

We will always remember Phil’s quiet dignity, his incredible blue eyes and his heart warming laugh and smile. He was a very special man - kind, thoughtful, generous and always willing to help others. He could be quite impish and playful but some of his happiest times were when he was by Lynne’s side, whether they were quietly reading together, or going for a driving adventure in the country. He adored her.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated and compassionate staff at Sunrise of Mississauga for their exceptional care. Phil was very happy at Sunrise and they cared for him with great affection. We also want to acknowledge Lamlat Bimkuteyi who has been Phil’s loving caregiver for the past two years.

Memories of Phil will always bring smiles to warm our hearts. Rest now, my love. You have fought hard and made us all proud.

Friends will be received at Turner and Porter, Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere Ave., east of the Jane Subway Station, Monday, September 25, 2023 from 10 am until time of the chapel service at 11 am. The Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery; all family and friends are welcome to join us. In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

I was saddened to hear of Philip’s sudden passing. We worked together in both the GTA High Risk Lending Group at CIBC and then the Special Loans Group after those two groups merged in late 1998. Philip was very successful in his management of these loans, handling difficult situations in a very professional manner. My sympathies to Lynne and family.

I worked with Philip at CIBC, University and King, remembering his sense of humour so well. Rest easy my friend.
