I met Phil in 1961 when I was posted as a police-cadet to the station he worked at.

Phil stood out by being helpful and friendly, & I appreciated when I was teamed up with him. I was still in my "teens" at the time, & it helped to be partnered with Phil, especially when faced with volatile situations.

Phil had a natural "quiet, yet positive" demeanour at all times.

He also was a member of the Police Athletic team , that in those days, competed against other police dept. teams. "Tug of war" was his speciality, & he gave me good advice for my own physical training program techniques.

Phil & I became very good on the job friends. After several years I was transferred to other units & we lost touch & Phil left the police force.
Years later, he came up in a conversation with a squad member who socialized with Phil. I found his address, phone # & met up with him & we carried on like we were never apart.

I thank Phil for having left a "positive" character impression on me , like a true mentor.

He has often come-to-mind, I will never forget him, I will miss him.

My wife and I had the pleasure of attending several events with Phil. He was always gracious, friendly, and warm. I especially recall a Saturday night dinner for 4 at his home. The perfect host.

Our condolences to his family and friends!
