In Celebration of

Petronella Padt

September 1, 1936 -  June 21, 2024

Passing on Friday, June 21, 2024, Petronella Padt (nee Banis), age 87 years, following a brief, and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Bernardus Padt. Loving mother to Victoria Pavao (John), Robert Padt (Suzanne), and Margaret Collins (Scott). Cherished grandmother to Christina (David), Stephanie (Nathan), Jennifer, Colleen, Sara and Jorja, and great-grandmother to Mikaela, Naomi, Theo and Sully. Survived by family in Amsterdam, Willy de Ruijter-Banis, Richard and Marijke Verwoerd. Fondly remembered by Ernest, Naan and Carla. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Ever a dedicated employee, Petronella worked at Sears for 41 years, and upon their closing at Square One in 2014, she continued to find meaningful employment through work at the Living Arts Centre, and later the Trillium Health Partners gift shops until her illness prevented her from attending her last shifts.

Petronella loved to travel the world, and had favourite vacation spots with dear friends to visit (Cuba, the cottage outside of Amsterdam), and was always ready to explore new places (Spain, Morocco, Turkey, Italy, Pittsburgh, and many more).

The family would like to thank the staff at Credit Valley Hospital for taking care of Petronella during her last days.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St., Mississauga (Hwy 10 N. of Q.E.W) on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 1:30-3:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be livestreamed - the link is provided below.

Please join the family to celebrate Petronella’s life. Lite refreshments to follow at 4:00 p.m.

Family flowers only, however if so desired, memorial donations may be made directly to Food Banks Mississauga, or SickKids Hospital.

I am so very sorry for all of Nell's family, you will miss her greatly.
She put up a great battle against her cancer and thankfully is
not suffering anymore.
Nell was a beautiful, gracious lady with whom I enjoyed sharing our
sweet grand daughters, Sara and Jorja, and the gift of a wonderful
son-in-law and husband to our Suzanne.
