In Celebration of

Peter Snell

November 7, 1952 -  May 25, 2022

Peter Joseph Jeremiah Snell, 69, of Innisfil, ON, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband to Mary for 43 years and proud, loving and caring father to Nicholas (Samantha). Brother to Barry (Terry), Charlotte Fillmore (late Roy), David (late Leah) and Jim (Lisa). Brother in law to Peter Siroky of Calgary. Predeceased by his parents, Blanche and Clifford Snell. Born and raised in Toronto, he settled into a quiet and relaxed life in Innisfil over three decades ago. He was a jack of all trades (and master of some!) and provided for his family by working at Molson’s (Carling O’Keefe) and later at Casino Rama. Coming from a large family, Peter leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, uncles, aunts and lifelong friends in Canada and USA. Peter will also be missed by his soldier friends and many relatives in Slovakia. Family was the centre of Peter’s universe and he was very proud of his son. He loved our car trips but was always happiest returning home. Peter had an uncanny talent to make people smile and laugh and it was easy for him to make friends and they remained as such for life.

Special thanks to Fr. Marek for providing Peter with spiritual support and administering the sacrament of anointing of the sick; to our family doctor, Dr. Jacky Lai for his compassion and care and to the staff at RVH (Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre) in Barrie and Hospice Simcoe (Barrie) for their exceptional care.
Visitation for Peter will take place at Turner and Porter Yorke Chapel at 2357 Bloor St. W, Toronto on June 1, 2022 from 2p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5p.m. to 8 p.m. with Parastas at 3pm. Funeral liturgy will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God, 257 Shaw St in Toronto, at 11 am. Cremation to follow.

Donations in Peter’s memory may be directed to the Cathedral, RVH or Hospice Simcoe.

Until we meet again, you will live in our hearts!
