In Celebration of
Peter Petersen
April 25, 1967 -
August 20, 2023
Pete unexpectedly passed away, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the age of 56. He was born on April 25th, 1967 in York, Ontario. The son of Helmut and Ellen Petersen. Brother of Margarete and Rick. Loving husband of Kathryn. Devoted father to Tyler, Stephen, and Evan. He was also loved by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He grew up in Scarborough and graduated from David & Mary Thomson Collegiate. He went on to Seneca College, in King City, where he met his future wife in 1987. Fate intervened when he went from working landscaping to joining the elevator trade. In 1996 he wrote his mechanics license and never looked back. He was a hard-working, loyal man who loved his job, but hated the bureaucracy.
He loved motorcycles, music, and spending time with his sons and his dogs. Lately, he had been going to a lot of concerts and scratching things off his bucket list. He was thrilled to meet his idols in Chilliwack, Saga, China Crisis, Chalk Circle, The Spoons, The Box, and Honeymoon Suite, to name a few. He was counting down the years until he could hit retirement, vacate the city, and tour Canada with his wife by his side.
He was a complex man with a heart of gold. He had a close circle of friends and family who will miss him immensely. The family appreciates the outpouring of love, prayers, and condolences that keep coming in from our friends and family all over the world. Every gesture, no matter how small, means the world to us.
