In Celebration of

Peter Benne

January 16, 1932 - January 26, 2025

The world lost a true gentleman. In his 94th year, after a brief illness Peter Benne passed away January 26th, 2025.

He was the beloved partner of Lorna Milne and adored by his children Dean Benne (Tina Shaheen) and Linda Ouderkirk (Brian Ouderkirk) and his grandchildren, Amy Benne, Sarah Clark (Austin Clark) and Peter Benne.

Peter was a man of few words but when he spoke it meant something. He was always a calm stabilizing force for all those he loved and who loved him. He treated everyone with respect and was always there with a friendly ear, a dry wit and a great sense of humor.

Born in the Netherlands, he came to Canada in the 50’s to start a new life.
Peter enjoyed a long and rewarding career at Samuel Steel Services where he started as an inventory clerk and retired as a Vice President.

Anything he set his mind to he could do. There was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. He was an incredible cook, taught himself stained glass and watercolour.

He taught his children to be strong and competent and with his love and guidance they became successful in their individual endeavors.

As he leaves on his journey he will walk with his beloved dogs Kalinka, Wellington, Merlin and Brindy.

A celebration of life will be held in April.
