In Celebration of

Pauline Cheung 張沈小文

November 24, 1953 -  May 11, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Pauline. Pauline passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023 at Margaret’s Place. She was surrounded by family and friends. Predeceased by her son, Brian, she leaves behind her loving husband, Stephen, her son, Jason (Jane), and her beautiful granddaughters, Emma and Brie. Pauline lost her courageous battle with cancer after a year and half. Prior to her illness, Pauline led a long and successful career as a physiotherapist, helping countless people recover from injuries, accidents, and illnesses. Despite her dedication to her patients and profession, family always came first. She made sure that her boys were provided with every opportunity in life to succeed. Pauline enjoyed travelling with her husband and friends, gardening, cooking, walking, and volunteering. She also loved looking after and spoiling Molly, the portuguese water dog. She always made time for friends and family, most of whom will remember her elaborate dinners and gatherings including delicious apple pies and endless Christmas baking. Pauline always put others before herself. She will forever be missed.

We would like to extend our special thanks to the staff and volunteers at Margaret’s Place, Dr. Anne Boyle, Dr. Raj Hanmiah, Dr. Ros Juergens, Dr. Michela Febbraro, Dr. John Agzarian, Dr. Min Yang, and the countless other healthcare professionals at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Juravinski Cancer Centre for their dedication, kindness, and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Pauline to Hospice Care at Margaret’s Place (St. Joseph’s Villa Foundation) or the Juravinski Cancer Centre Foundation (Hamilton Health Sciences).

Roger and I are so incredibly sad to hear of Pauline’s passing. We were fortunate to share several of those magnificent dinners and took “a trip through Scotland” sampling some wonderful single malts. Pauline was gracious, loving and kind and will be missed so very much. Our sincerest sympathy to you Stephen, Jason and Jane.

Hello Stephen and family,
I have fond memories of Pauline from various Ericsson gatherings. She was always so sweet and nice to me and I always enjoyed chatting with her. She will truly be missed.

Stephen, it’s been a lot of years since we saw each other but I still think of all you taught me early in my career and have never forgotten you and your beautiful family! Take care and my prayers go out to you.

Sincerely,
Stacey

Stephen and Jason, I am so very sorry to hear that Pauline has passed away. Our family enjoyed having you as excellent neighbours. When I tore my ACL Pauline provided me with such great care and rehabilitation as I recovered.
Melissa, Lachlan and I send our best thoughts and prayers during this very sad time. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
