He was uncle to 38 nephews and nieces and many grand nephews and nieces.

He graduated from Booker's Trade School in 1968. Upon graduation, he worked as a licensed mechanic in Albon Sugar Estate before moving to Linden and working at Alcan/Demba Bauxite Co. He emigrated to Canada in May 1969 and landed in Waterloo, ON where he worked as a licensed mechanic for Kaline Equipment until 1971 before moving to Toronto where he worked for Canadian Pacific. He later worked for BP/Petro Canada before becoming National Vice President of the PetroChemical Workers Union. His last employer was the Ontario Ministry of Labour where he worked as a Labour Relations Officer.

Always active in politics since his teenage years in Guyana, where he was Chairman of the Fyrish/Courtland/Gibraltar YSM, in the mid-1960s. In 1987 he ran for MPP in Mississauga under the NDP and in 1988 he ran for MP, again in Mississauga for the NDP.

Another passion was watching the Blue Jays. He loved playing dominoes whether it was day or night. He played it with such passion that if you were his partner and you didn't play right he’d let you know it.

His presence will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
